The Pink Lake

This is a lake located in Senegal Africa. It is called Lake Retba or Lac Rose meaning the pink lake. It is an hour drive from Dhaka the capital of Senegal. It derives it's unusual pink color as a result of a particular algae specie found in its waters. The algae secretes this coloured pigment in order to help itself absorb sunlight. The lake also has a high salt content. This is definitely one majestic lake to visit in person.
